The theme is a Bubba BBQ. It will be a potluck meal, and I want to encourage folks to come dressed in their best "Bubba" costumes, and if possible bring a side dish or a dessert. Kids are welcome, and we'll have games for them. For those that do want to drink, we're doing a trash-can punch. So those who want to, bring a bottle of liquor to donate to the punch. After the kids leave folks can hang around, drink, party, and more! It is always a fun night for all and as always, all are welcome! Location The SoonerCon 2009 Kick-Off party will be held on Sunday, August 31st, at 7pm. Since our 2009 theme is time travel and alternate histories, we'll be tracking back in time to the 1980's! Come dressed in your best leg warmers or Don Johnson getups, and be prepared to party like it's 1989! The party will be at 1848 Hemingway Drive in Edmond Oklahoma (map here). For detailed directions you can call 405-330-2868. The first couple of hours will be set aside for the meeting and for dinner, and will be appropriate for all ages, and the later part of the evening will be party time for the adults! Be prepared for 80 board games, twister, and other fun activities! We'll also have memberships on hand for 2009, as well as t-shirts and more! As always, all are welcome to attend, whether you want to help us with SoonerCon 2009, or just want to come have a good time! Avast, ye scurvy dogs! The SoonerCon 2008 Kickoff party is coming! Join us on Saturday, August 11th, at 6pm, for dinner, drinks, and excitement, or else be prepared to walk the plank! Everyone is welcome to this kickoff event, where you can help to build the excitement for SoonerCon 2008. This is also a great opportunity for you to get involved, if you're interested! Since our theme is "Pieces of '08", this kickoff party will be a pirate themed party. Come in your best pirate gear, and be prepared to be talkin' like a salty dog! The dinner and family portion of the party runs from 6pm-9pm. All ages are more than welcome. After that, we'll be moving more into party mode (think mini-SinnerCon). Drinking, games, music, contests and more! Included in the prizes will be an award for sexiest pirate costumes and best pirate costumes (free SoonerCon T-Shirts as the prize), and we'll be holding some 'piraty' games. The party will run till everyone falls down drunk, or goes home! The party will be in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 1848 Hemingway Drive. Again, everyone and anyone is welcome! On the 26th of May, SoonerCon will be represented at Atomic Comics (6006 S. Western, OKC), selling memberships. This will be a great opportunity to pick up a SoonerCon 2007 membership before the price increase! We're hosting the first SoonerCon chili cookoff this sunday, at 6pm (April 29th). Everyone is welcome, and while you can bring Chili, you don't have to. |
